Hebrews 10:19-25 NIV
19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God,22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
In the last three weeks, this scripture has been used in almost every sermon I've been to and listen to. My Come Together ladies can tell you this is our foundation verse. This is why the group was originally formed. And what that group has developed into blows my mind. It is very much different from the beginning. The first meeting was me with one other woman. Over the years, some have come, some have moved on to better things. Over the years, the ladies in Come Together have encouraged one another through difficult times, they have pushed each other to follow calls into ministry, and stood side by side in prayer together when that ministry got really hard.
This may sound like beating a dead horse after last week, but the people you surround yourself with is so important to your growth as a believer. If you are not meeting together with bible believing Christians, I can tell you with all certainty that you will struggle with your own belief. The bible tells us that we need to grow in our knowledge and belief so we are not misled by false doctrines (Eph 4). There are so many false doctrines out there right now that have specks of truth sprinkled in but the foundation of what they are teaching is false. We need each other to grow so we do not fall to those lies.
If you are local to Cincinnati, I am happy to help you find a bible believing church and a small group near you. It does not need to be my church, but you need to be in a good church. Small groups are also important to your own growth. That is where you will really find your people that will stand by you through mountains and valleys. If you need help finding a church and/or group, please fill out the comment box below.
Just a side note for those already plugged into a church... We are headed into the busiest week of the year for churches and leaders. There are MANY people that will attend Easter that don't attend any other week of the year. If you are already plugged into a church, I encourage you to stretch yourself and volunteer to serve in the next week. Serving is a different kind of blessing and you will not regret it.
Love you all!
